St Osyth Beach Holiday Park, Essex – and what to do nearby

St Osyth Beach is one of the Essex parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at St Osyth, near Clacton-on-Sea.

St Osyth Beach sits on the coast at St Osyth, on the sheltered stretch of Essex shoreline between Brightlingsea and Clacton.

It is quieter than Clacton but close enough to use it, which is the standard argument for staying here.

A local day out: St Osyth Priory

An Augustinian priory founded in the 12th century, with a flintwork gatehouse that is one of the finest medieval buildings in Essex. The grounds and gardens open to visitors at published times, so check before you set off, but even the gatehouse from the village street is worth the walk in.

Also within reach

  • Clacton Pier — Rides, arcades and an aquarium, a few minutes east.
  • Brightlingsea — A sailing town with a lido and a foot ferry across to Mersea.
  • Colchester Castle — The largest Norman keep in Europe, built on a Roman temple.
