A local day out: Paignton Zoo
One of the largest zoos in the country, laid out as a botanical garden with the animals in habitat zones rather than rows of cages. Lions, giraffes, orangutans and a crocodile swamp. It takes most of a day properly, and it is a short distance from the park, which is the point.
