Polperro Holiday Park, Cornwall – and what to do nearby

Polperro is one of the Cornwall parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at Polperro, south-east Cornwall.

Polperro Holiday Park sits above one of the most photographed fishing villages in Cornwall, on the south coast between Looe and Fowey.

This is the sheltered side of Cornwall, which makes it a gentler proposition than the Atlantic coast.

A local day out: Polperro village and harbour

The village itself is the attraction: whitewashed cottages stacked up a ravine, a tidal harbour, and lanes too narrow for cars, which are banned from the centre. There is a small smuggling museum, and the coast path out to the west gives you the view that ends up on the postcards. Best early or late, when the day visitors have gone.

Also within reach

  • Looe — A working fishing port with a beach and boat trips to Looe Island.
  • The South West Coast Path — The Polperro to Looe stretch is about four miles and worth every one.
  • The Eden Project — The biomes at Bodelva, a straightforward drive north.
