Seawick sits on the coast at St Osyth, a couple of miles west of Clacton on the Essex sunshine coast.
The beaches here are sandy and shallow, and the sea is warmer than most of the English coast, which is the honest reason this stretch has always been popular with families.
A local day out: Clacton Pier
Opened in 1871 and still going, with a fairground, rides, an aquarium, bowling and the full complement of arcades out over the water. It is unashamedly a traditional seaside pier and it is very good at it. Wristbands work out cheaper than paying per ride if you are staying all day.
