Hengar Manor is one of the Cornwall parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at St Tudy, near Bodmin.
Hengar Manor sits in the countryside at St Tudy, north of Bodmin, in the quiet gap between Bodmin Moor and the north Cornish coast.
It is a good base for people who want Cornwall without wanting to park in Newquay in August.
A local day out: Port Isaac
A working fishing village of impossibly narrow lanes running down to a harbour, best known now as the Doc Martin village. Go for the harbour at low tide, the fish being landed, and Squeezy Belly Alley, which is exactly what the name suggests. Park at the top and walk down, because the alternative is a very slow reverse.
Also within reach
- The Camel Trail — Traffic-free cycling from Wadebridge to Padstow along the estuary.
- Tintagel Castle — Clifftop ruins, an Arthurian legend and a footbridge over the chasm.
- Bodmin Moor — Rough Tor and the Cheesewring, for a proper walk.
