Trevella is one of the Cornwall parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at Crantock, near Newquay.
Trevella sits at Crantock, just across the Gannel from Newquay, which gives you the beaches without the town centre.
It is a quieter proposition than the parks in Newquay itself, and the beach it points at is one of the best in Cornwall.
A local day out: Crantock Beach
A wide horseshoe of sand backed by dunes, owned by the National Trust, with the Gannel river running out across it. There is a cave at the north end with a carved face and a poem in it, left by a heartbroken Victorian. Watch the tides on the river channel, which come in faster than people expect.
Also within reach
- Holywell Bay — Enormous dunes and the two rock stacks you will recognise from Poldark.
- Newquay — Fistral, the zoo and the aquarium, ten minutes round the estuary.
- The Gannel — Seasonal footbridges and a tidal creek to explore at low water.
