Alberta Holiday Park, Kent – and what to do nearby

Alberta is one of the Kent parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at Seasalter, near Whitstable.

Alberta sits at Seasalter, on the north Kent coast just along from Whitstable and looking out over the Swale.

The beach here is shingle and the sunsets over the estuary are the reason people keep coming back.

A local day out: Whitstable harbour

A working harbour with fish stalls, an oyster trade going back to the Romans, and a shingle beach lined with weatherboarded huts. The town has resisted becoming a theme park version of itself, mostly. Go for the seafood on the harbour, the walk out to the Street, a shingle bank that appears at low tide and lets you walk half a mile out to sea, and the sunset afterwards.

Also within reach

  • Faversham — A medieval market town with Britain's oldest brewer and a creek.
  • Canterbury — The cathedral, the city walls and the Roman museum, twenty minutes south.
  • Seasalter and the Saxon Shore Way — Long, flat coastal walking straight from the park.
