Walk east from Leysdown along the beach and the amusements stop, the shell bank begins, and you end up at one of the emptiest stretches of coast in the south east. The Swale reserve behind it fills with waders and Brent geese in winter and there are seals on the sand bars. Take binoculars, keep to the paths at the hamlet, and it is free.
