Bodmin Holiday Park sits in over 96 acres of woodland and parkland right in the middle of Cornwall, with three acres of stocked fishing lakes on site. It was formerly known as Waterside Cornwall.
Being inland is the advantage rather than the drawback here: you are within reach of both the north and south coasts, so you can pick your beach according to which way the wind is blowing.
A local day out: Bodmin & Wenford Railway
A preserved steam railway running from Bodmin General through the Fowey valley to Boscarne Junction, where it meets the Camel Trail. Full-size steam locomotives, a proper station, and driver experience days for anyone who has always fancied it. It is the obvious half-day out from this park and it is barely any distance at all.

- Bodmin Jail — An 18th-century prison turned visitor attraction, with the dark tourism dialled up. Older children only.
