Brynteg Holiday Park, Wales – and what to do nearby

Brynteg is one of the Wales parks in the Park Holidays UK collection, at Llanrug, near Caernarfon, Snowdonia.

Brynteg sits at Llanrug, between Caernarfon and Llanberis, on the edge of Eryri, the Snowdonia National Park.

You are within a few miles of the highest mountain in Wales, a World Heritage castle and the biggest adventure attractions in the country.

A local day out: The Snowdon Mountain Railway

A rack and pinion railway climbing from Llanberis to within a few feet of the summit of Yr Wyddfa, the highest point in Wales and England. It has been running since 1896 and it is the only rack railway in Britain. Book well ahead, because it sells out, and be aware that services sometimes terminate short of the summit in poor weather. Llanberis is about ten minutes from the park.

Also within reach

  • Caernarfon Castle — Edward I's fortress, a World Heritage Site, with towers you can climb.
  • Zip World — Velocity 2 at Penrhyn Quarry, said to be the fastest zip line in the world.
  • Llyn Padarn — A lake at Llanberis with a lakeside steam railway and open swimming.
