A local day out: The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway
A one-third scale main line railway running 13.5 miles from Hythe to Dungeness, hauled by steam locomotives built in the 1920s. It is not a novelty ride round a field: it carries schoolchildren, it has proper signalling, and the journey takes over an hour end to end. New Romney is the headquarters, with the model railway exhibition and the engine sheds, and it is on the doorstep of the park.
