A local day out: Maldon and the Thames sailing barges
Hythe Quay at Maldon is where the last of the red-sailed Thames barges are moored, and several still sail. Even tied up they are remarkable things. The town itself has the Promenade Park with a boating lake and a splash park, and Maldon sea salt has been made here since the 1880s.
